I read a lot. I sift through the Internet every day skimming for great content. I’m very picky about where I focus my attention, so when a blog or website makes me come back, it is a big deal. If it makes me check in weekly (or daily!) it is a really big deal. These are a few of my top picks for sites that I return to consistently, based on the quality of content and design.
Cup of Jo: I read this blog every day. Joanna Goddard (the blog’s creator) is both honest and endlessly creative in the topics she, along with her small staff, addresses. The blog features house tours, personal essays, book reviews, fashion, interviews, recipes, travel and WAY more.
OKREAL: I LOVE this site. It features very well done interviews with independent, entrepreneurial women. The interviews are thorough and honest and always interesting. I learn something new- or get inspired- every time I check in here.
Waiting for Saturday: This is another collection of interviews from creative/entrepreneurial women, but it focuses on what they do on weekends. It’s always cool to take a peek into the “real life” of someone successful. Plus, the design of this site always makes me feel kind of relaxed. Although I don’t check in here daily, I do pop over here almost every weekend.
Brain Pickings: This site is fascinating. Maria Popova curates books and ideas here. If you want to browse through great quotes, gather inspiration, or find a new book recommendation, this site is more than worth your time. Great design, great content, great site.
The Design Files: This is an Australian design site, but it features solid interviews, short films, house tours, and great design. I love browsing through the “homes” and “people” sections, gathering inspiration from the beautiful photography and interesting people.
Freunde von Freunden: I honestly think I could spend hours here. Films, interviews, photography, ideas, music, books: it’s all here. If I need inspiration, I go to this site.
